Prof. Pushpa Raj Sharma
The Health Learning Materials Centre was first established as a project in October 1981 under Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. The centre was supported by WHO/UNDP.
As a project it was identified as the leading institution of HLM production in Nepal. Since its establishment, the project has produced a number of health learning materials for health workers working in health post, nursing students and even lay people. The content is focused on primary health care.
In November 1989, the project became a WHO collaborating Centre and was also made into a regular programme of the University. It's also designated the leading institution for the South Asia Region. Since then the centre produced South East Asia Network news to acquaint the member countries with regional development in HLM production with a view to share ideas and expertise.
The HLM Centre functions as a integral part of the Institute on Medicine in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. The link is maintained through the management committee, chaired by dean of the Institute .<-->
