Introduction of new departments

Department of Pharmacy

Department of Pharmacy was established in 2008, previous to that B.Pharmacy programme was running under department of clinical pharmacology since 2000 AD.

Currently the final year students are focusing on their research activities. Five students have selected plant based research, mainly focusing on antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antibiotic, antineoplastic activities and other phytochemicals parameters, two students are working on in vitro evaluation of different brands of drugs and one is working on in vitro drug adsorption.

Recently IOM and Quest pharmaceutical have signed a MoU for the collaborative research activities of pharmacy students and faculties.

We have facilitated our students to participate in various national and international congresses, seminars and also encouraged them to develop leadership through various extracurricular activities.

Department of International Relation

Department of International Relation was established on 2007 to develop the relationship and collaboration with other overseas universities and medical institutes. This department is mainly focusing on welfare of foreign students of undergraduate and post Graduate both .Our motto is to provide a safe and happy stay of foreign students in our institute. Recently Prof Pratap Narayan has joined member secretary of this Department. To Develop and obtain the objectives of this department, Member Secretary has called different meetings with faculties and foreign students of IOM. According the mandate of different meetings, the department has started the following new tasks for the welfare of foreign students:

Ø The department has been providing administrative assistant to obtain Visa.

Ø The department is also providing administrative support to obtain Certificate process from the University..

Ø The department is also exploring the funds to provide the built another foreign hostel .

Ø The department is onward to corresponding to develop and collaborate with other international universities.

Ø The department is also going to take process for recognition of MBBS and Post Graduate programmes with other medical council.

The annual activities of this department was the welcome of new foreign students of MBBS programme on 2008. The Deprtment had organized a picnic programme at Nagarkot for all foreign students. This department also conducted a greeting ceremony of Dashain and Tihar festival of 2009 with all foreign students and faculties of IOM.
