Nursing Campus Maharajgunj is a historical (pioneer) Campus in Nepal. It was Initiated in 1956 with 15 students on a school of nursing under the Directorate of Health Services of Ministry of Health.
In 1972 with the introduction of New Education System plan this nursing school was brought under Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine (IOM).
The school was then named as Mahaboudha Nursing Campus until 1986 AD when it moved to Maharajgunj (present location) and renamed finally as Nursing Campus Maharajgunj.
Nursing Campus Maharajgunj has made considerable progress. It has increased its academic programmes from that of proficiency Certificate level (PCL) Nursing to Bachelor of Nursing, Master of Nursing and Generic Bachelor of Science (Nursing). Now the number of students are increasing continuously and running students data is 359 in number.

Academic programmes at Nursing Campus Maharajgunj undertaking 4 level academic programmes in Nursing. All of these programmes students are admitted annually on the basis of entrance examination.

Nursing Campus has the following facilities in Health Information Technology Fields:
Library
There are 7 computers in the library for the user and library/Administration purpose. All the data of libraries books, journals, thesis, documents are computerized by library software WINISIS developed by UNESCO. We have plan to add 10 more computers for the users and separate computer laboratory for the students and faculties.
Library is providing Internet services to the user since 062/7/1 from the HealthNet. Now we have discontinued HealthNet services and we have 3 cable internet line from Department of Information Technology, Institute of Medicine from 065/10/21.
There are following facilities also including computers and Internet:
- Scanning the documents
- Photocopy services
- Printing services
- Full text access from HINARI more than 6200 journals
- PubMED services etc.

There are five computers for the faculties with separate room having internet facility.

There are separate computer for Campus Chief with Internet, Account Section, Examination section, Administration section to run the programmes smoothly.
