Health Learning Materials Center (HLMC)

This center was first established as a project in October 1984 under Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine in collaboration with Ministry of Health, the center was supported by WHO/UNDP.
As a project it was identified as the lead institution of HLM production in Nepal. Since its establishment, the project has produced a number of health learning materials for health workers working in health post, nursing students and even lay people. The content is focused on primary health care.
In November 1989, the project became a WHO collaborating center and was also made into a regular programme of the University. It was also designated as leading institution for the South East Region. Since then the center produced South East Asia Network news to acquaint the member countries with regional development in HLM production with a view to share ideas and expertise for nearly four years.
